She is proud of her ancestors, Hispanic landowners of early California.
Trouble begins when she witnesses the death of a fellow garden club member on the eve of the community’s famous garden show. Not convinced that the death is accidental, she quickly begins investigating the incident. Complications develop when she juggles her job as computer consultant and the investigation, risking discovery by snooping around her friends’ and clients’ homes.
Her large dogs do their share to help, and her boy friend does his best to dissuade her from probing. Ramona settles on a murder suspect and attempts to prevent what she believes will be another homicide. But she discovers barely in time that she was led astray by a clever, calculating murderer.
